Michelin announced today that it will be adding 500 new jobs to the Upstate.

Michelin announced today that it will be breaking ground on a new 750 Million dollar manufacturing facility in Anderson, SC that will add 500 new jobs to the Upstate.

 

This new plant in Anderson will be geared toward manufacturing earth moving tires for the heavy equipment market that is an every growing market around the world. This side of the tire manufacturing industry has increased over 20% since 2009 to 2012. This will be Michelin's 19th manufacturing facility and the ninth plant in South Carolina. Michelin's South Carolina employees account for 8,000 plus of the company's 22,300 total employees. Michelin has called South Carolina home since 1973 and this further shows their commitment to the state and to the Greenville, SC and Upstate areas.
