Beach Comapny out of Charleston plans to start another downtown Greenville project with a 4.5-acre empty property at the corner of North Main Street and Stone Avenue that they have under contract. This is not for for the parcel on South Church Street near The Brio Condos that New City did which will be breaking ground next month if all plans stay on track for shops and retail along Church Street. This gives the Beach company two very visible locations in great downtown to expand their developments in the upstate.
Next to the New Project One Building Huges Development will have a new project starting the third phase of the redevelopment of this downtown parcel of real estate just off main street.
The new development will have a parking garage, hotel, and shops on Richardson and Washington streets.
Downtown Greenville development keeps growing in a positive direction.
TaylorMade Golf Co. is moving to Pickens county into 120,000 square foot space off Hwy 123 in the Easley area they hope to finish construction in January of 2014. The company will be closing the old plant in the Westminster area but plans to retain these workers. This will be the new location for TaylorMade’s North American golf ball production headquarters who currently has about 20 players who play their ball on the PGA tour.
Downtown Greenville will have a new wine tasting Rooftop bar Hotspot opening next week on April 11th.
Located in the One Building on Main Street in Downtown Greenville the Anthropologie women's apparel store will be opening its doors on Friday March 29th. This business should add more of variety to the Main Street and maybe one day soon Main Street will be more like King Street in Charleston and become a real shopping destination.
Shawn Thomas and New City Real Estate have been asked to be featured on the Entrepreneur Hour with our good friend Josh Kimbrell tomorrow. Please be sure to tune in to the show I'm sure it will be an interesting conversation between a commercial banker and a real estate broker and developer also Cathy Heitzenrater another agent with New City will be a guest on the show as well. Josh is very knowledgeable and has a bright political future so it should be an informative talk!
Greenville home sales continue to be on the rise and inventory has decreased by about half on existing homes over the last year so slowly but surely it is becoming a sellers market again after many years. New City Real Estate is representing many home buyers and we have had four closings over the last four days and put several other properties under contract. We expect the activty to be strong through 2013 the time to purchase is now before its to late and the opportunity has passed!

FDI Intelligence, a division of the Financial Times LTD, has ranked Greenville, SC, as the Number 1 micro city in America. (http://www.gsabusiness.com/news/40449-greenville-ranked-no-1-micro-city.)
The ranking was based under six measurements: Economic potential, human resources, cost effectiveness, quality of life, infrastructure and business friendliness. Cities scored up to a maximum of 10 points under each individual criterion, which were weighed by importance to give the overall scores.
